WOERMANN, BROCK, a leading Namibian Retail Group, has created a position for a Internal ERP Trade Consultant in Windhoek.

The ERP Trade Consultant must take the lead for the installation and setup of systems and to train and advise users on the practical application of trading specific software modules and provide support. Must produce detailed accurate system specifications or undertake system testing.


  • Implementation of the following Trading Modules: Sales Order Processing / POS, System Utilities, Stock Checking, Advanced Analysis, Report Generator, Printer Management, Purchase Invoice Matching, Forecasting, Data Warehouse, Workplace, Data Exchange, CRM, Customer Pricing, Central Master Files, Buying Terms, Branch Files, Stock and Warehouse management.
  • Create an awareness of how transactions interact with Accounts modules.
  • Take responsibility within an implementation project to ensure all documentation is completed and in particular that a pre live check list is completed and that the project is ready to go live.
  • Resolve or assist in the resolution of user problems and queries arising from the implementation and subsequent live operation of the ERP system.
  • Attend project meetings when required to gain or impart knowledge on current status of projects and to document details when appropriate.
  • Assist the support function at all times on current or previously implemented systems, as and when required, by taking support calls where appropriate.
  • Liaise with the supplier to define, or help define, requirements and specifications for modifications to the software.
  • Assist the vendors with understanding of specifications during the development of modifications and subsequently test and document developed changes.
  • Train users in the operation of modified software, as and when required, to ensure a smooth hand over of projects.
  • Train staff in use of K8 ERP and POS applications.
  • Cover for colleagues, as and when required, in all areas where knowledge overlaps, and to undertake other such duties as may reasonably be requested.
  • Produce accurate specifications suitable for developers. Test modifications and provide good quality documentation for proof of testing.
  • Deliver high quality feedback and support the implementation process pre/post live including, investigate and document project issues.
  • Record and manage implementation and support queries and issues following company policies and procedures.
  • Be the first level support resource responsible for liaising with the ERP supplier for 1st line support and issue resolution.


  • Liaise with internal and external customers and stakeholders, keeping them informed about progress on calls being attended to.
  • Identify weaknesses/inefficiencies in process/procedures across all levels of the business and put forward suggestions for improvement (and automation where possible) to facilitate continuous service improvement.
  • Deliver assigned projects on schedule and assist teams with large scale projects.
  • Create and maintain high quality documentation ensuring it is updated following reviews or changes.


  • A degree in Business or Information Technology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s licence for a motor vehicle
  • Exposure to various operating systems
  • Knowledge of Database platforms for ERP solutions e.g. Oracle SQL or similar
  • Exposure or a qualification in PRINCE 2 or other recognised project methodologies
  • Sound working knowledge of ERP business processes and procedures, including day to day transactions, month end, year-end activities.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an implementer for a software house or senior experience gained in the distribution, wholesale or Retail (FMCG) sectors.
  • Demonstrable configuration, installation and implementation experience relating to ERP such as GO LIVE'S including working knowledge of Supply Chain processes



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and do presentations at board, senior management and end user level
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of individuals and maintain effective working relationships within a team environment
  • Able to investigate issues and generate an effective solution in a systematic and logical manner
  • Organised and able to manage workload efficiently, delegate and supervise activities in particular submitting high quality documentation, timesheets, etc.
